Hi anons, new to this board. Just got an Olympus pen s because I like how half frame pictures come out on a print side by side. New to photography in general and trying to make sense of some of these settings. From reading the manual, it seems like the focus distance can be left at 5m for most of the time, and brought down to 2 or less for portraits. The f/stop can be left at 22 during daytime unless I want a portrait type shot. During night time, it’s better to lower the f/stop number to allow in more light. Similarly, the shutter speed can be left at 250 during day and maybe lowered at night to get in more light. So I guess during daytime I can generally leave settings at (distance 5m, shutter speed 250, f/stop between 8 and 22), and at night lower the shutter speed and f/stop.
Does this sound about right? I’m running a roll right now just to test it out and playing with settings but curious what you all think of getting the most of the settings.
