>>3146334I agree with this partially. I do think it is very close to a dollar store keychain type camera, although I do think it is a little bit better than that. The hot shoe is what set it a little higher in my opinion, along with the acceptance of WiFi enabled SD (or an SD car alone, for that matter). The lag can be dealt with if you just kind of keep still for a bit, which I agree is bullshit, but its something you can work around. Its kind of a fun constraint IMO.
I would have absolutely been pissed if I payed 80 bucks for this, but I think 20 bucks was exactly what it should have been in the first place. This is absolutely a 20 dollar camera. I urge everyone who sees this to go to Urban Outfitters and buy one because I guarantee that they are selling them for 20 bucks probably everywhere since nobody is really buying them.
The argument is usually that theres no real "place" for this camera to fit into. My thinking is this:
Yes, its got a lot of problems, but I just cannot justify very easily putting roll after roll of 120 film through a Holga when nearly all of the stuff comes out kind of lackluster. Once in a hundred you get a gem of photograph, but then you are already, what, ten rolls in? The time it takes to develop when you know your images are going to mostly be over or under exposed and blurry just seems like a waste too, in my (really negative, I know) opinion.
I almost always shoot with film myself, and i love film and can see the beauty in Holga images, but it just seems like putting a roll of 120 though a Yashica would be better than putting it through a Holga at what it costs to do it. If this were 1981-2005 id probably be more willing - when film was abundant and cost far less.
Yeah not into the color photos from this thing though
