Photography helps me to get in the zone and focus on one task. It was difficult some time ago, but got better after I did Ayahuasca.
Also for that rush of happiness when you get a banger. I normally tend to oscillate closely around 0 with my moods, so I seek out everything that takes me away from baseline.
It motivates me to get out of my house, explore and see the world.
It gives me pretty much lifelong path of development. In my head I will forever suck and get bummed out by not being in a same place that other great photographers are. Although it will not discourage me from trying to improve, I'm at peace with that thought. All the greats were professional photographers - I'm just an engineer with a passion for it. It will take me way more years to put same 5k hours to reach basic mastery.
