What's the deal with off-brand tripods? The last time I bought a tripod was in 2003, and back then there weren't really a whole lot of brands. I still like my bogen manfrotto, but it feels out of date, it's heavy as fuck and I'm limited with the accessories I can mount, including a boom arm for product photography. I see really decent looking carbon fiber tripods on Amazon for only a few hundred bucks, or even less. Has anyone tried them? Accepting answers from frog posters only.
