>>3648019>Obviously true that MF will give you more detail but you can't even compare them when it comes to size. Sure you can.
The current crop of medium-format mirrorless cameras are in about the same size class as a pro DSLR. The GFX100 is in about the same class as a pro DSLR with battery grip.
And yeah, they're significantly bigger than a Leica M. But honestly, based on having used a 5D and an M9 extensively, the difference isn't really that noticeable. I wouldn't feel any more conspicuous shooting street with an M than with a 5D, so I probably wouldn't feel any different with a GFX50 either.
That being said, I'm not at all in agreement with the guy you were responding to--I disagree with his implication that the reason to shoot Leica is because Leica glass is particularly high quality. The reason I like shooting Leica is more about the experience about viewing the world through a rangefinder than it is about the final product (although the final product is also just as good as with my other full frame bodies on a purely technical basis). It's just a different way of doing photography, and that in and of itself has value. But if it's not for you, it's not for you. I don't think I'm better than anyone because I shoot a Leica, but I don't think most of the reasons in this thread are valid reasons to dismiss them without ever giving one a try.
