>>3147980>>3147986Yeah, don't worry, I cleaned the glue out already. It didnt work anyway.
You are absolutely right, I am a dumb fukken retard. I forgot that this variety of FD mount rotates itself, rather than rotating just the flange-ring.
BUT: I also just noticed what caused the initial issue of the lens not letting go of the mount:
In this picture (which I took during disassembly to help me to put it all back together) you can see the inner grey ring, that transfers the rotation of the aperture ring to the aperture control prong (currently at the resting position of 5.6). The peg of that grey ring is at 2 o'clock has slid out of its notch in the aperture ring just below it clockwise. If it slides out and slides next to the aperture ring, it has three results:
first, the peg blocks the movement of the aperture ring beyond f/11
second, the aperture closes to smallest hole
and third, the control surface (or whatever it's called, the two prongs), does not fully disengange and prevents a disengangement of the long pull lever that controls the aperture, which prevents the twisting of the breach back.
This cannot be fixed without unscrewing the flange-ring, taking off the breach and resetting the prongs.
Now the initial issue (the grey ring jumping out of its notch) is what puzzles me. i noticed it when I was putting things back together, and it is why I wanted to glue the little peg down so it can't jump up and let go of the notch. It also puzzles me that the notch is sloped on one side. The peg can't jump out in clowise direction, but it CAN in counter-clockwise direction. When I put the aperture ring to A, it stays safe however.
Now my question: can I fix it or should I just return it to the seller? It was via ebay and he offered to take it back.
