Obviously the dmax on the Noritsu is better but it isn't apparent in prints. I'm not sure if the lab is applying grain reduction but the Nikon scan has much sharper grain than the Noritsu does.
Not bad for $100 I'd say. The 4000 ED is a much more advanced scanner and for $300 it's much better than DSLR scanning, especially if you are going to be scanning often.
