>>2939646is it a 1.8? with stars i typically start out wide open at 800-1600 ISO and then i'll do a 20 second exposure to see how it goes. with wide lenses you can get away with really long exposures without losing clarity but if you are using longer lenses you might have to do shorter exposures because the compressed field of view means the stars will be moving across the frame more quickly. it's like when you're looking through binoculars, when you pan them just a little bit you get a lot of movement in the frame because of the magnification and compression
