How do we fix Lomography?
Well my first thought is, is it even worth fixing? Only reason for me is because they advocate film and even produced new color films. Even though I feel they are terribly overpriced and the only films worth buying from them are the Lomo Color Negative 100, 400 and 800. Probably the earl grey or Lady grey but I'd rather shoot tmax/tri x /ilford.
Even with the "analog revival" back in late 2010's and up to now even with the pandemic, Lomo didn't capitalized on this opportunity. They still cling to targeting hipsters. I see their ads and its still the same as 2005. That generation has past by. What's stopping them from getting a few well known influencers and having their product marketed by them? Are they afraid of losing their hipster market share by in a way "going mainstream"?
What about their lenses? Do they target the new videographers / youtubers crowd with it? It seems the Lomo aesthetic is not being marketed properly.
Sorry for ranting again /p/. Just thought of Lomo and it seems it's struggling and I don't want film stocks being discontinued. I also think Lomography has potential.
