and turn it into a sensor which has perfect dynamic range? Which should be impossible. (Notice how the A7r5 also becomes perfect once noise reduction is applied.)
The only conclusion I can come to is that sigma is applying noise reduction to it's raw files. Which makes a lot of sense. That's the real reason the readout seems so slow, it's being processed in real time. I bet the readout speed is fine, it's just the delay caused by processing, as it takes place before the image is rendered on the LCD cause it to appear slower. I wish we got access to more information about the processor specs inside of cameras.
Anyway thanks for pointing that out. It actually cured my gas for the fp L, and I can finally rest easy.
