I normally shoot 5D MK4 with the 24-105 f4 or Sigma 50 f1.4.
Of late I've always ended up taking a film SLR on trips instead to save space and weight. However film is gay so I'm in the market again.
What I'm thinking:
A daily pocketable or near-pocketable crop sensor camera for smaller outings such as social events, walks, dates etc.
>GRIIIx
The wide FOV was a deal breaker for me when I was considering the GRIII but the 40mm equivalent on the X fixes the main gripe I had with the camera. Otherwise, 200 shots per charge isn't great (but probably good enough for a daily?).
>X100VI
Significantly better battery life for not much more size, better shooting experience with OVF, but overbought by bandwagonists. WR is nice. Supposedly decent video as well (1080p is enough).
AND/OR
Something smaller than the 5D but just as serious (or more), for personal work and longer trips like vacations, hiking...
>GFX50R with 63mm or 50mm
Digital MF at this size is very tempting. But no OVF is sad. Waiting to see if they do a MKII. Otherwise continue shooting MF film (but see line 3).
