With birbs, the hardest part is the gear honestly. Once you have a 200mm+ focal length lens and a decent body it is practically point and shoot and luck. Especially the smaller birbs are really quick so just shooting your arse off and hoping the birb strikes a nice pose seems like a decent tactic to me. The lens gives nice bokeh and DOF, it clear what you want as a subject for your phote, so I feel a birb picturig is quite easy to at least get 'good' shots: maybe even the easiest, and a good start into trying to get them beter.
