>>4372524being restricted to only 2 lenses mean you would have to sacrifice image quality or your style for the purpose of being able to cover all the focal ranges AND it also immediately eliminates any and all prime lenses from the list for 99% of photographers both amateur and ones who live off it... 3 lenses is doable but 2 is just forcing you to pick 2 zooms that cover the biggest focal range.
that said, since i do portraits/fashion and weddings and do automotive/nature/macro in my free time, i would probably be forced to go for either
1. 16-35 and 70-200
2. 24-70 and 70-200
