the vulcanite can not be repaired, it was actually baked onto the brass body, but you can get replacement leatherette. take your time and clean all the old vulcanite off and carefully apply the new stuff and it will look pretty good.
you can look up the SN to find the year of the camera, how many were made that year and weather it is just another IIIf or something more valuable
