They have a rolling metal shutter that I find quieter than even rubber cloth ones. Or at least as quiet, with a different (hssst) sound.
The Helios 103 (53mm f/1.8) is a very good and modern lens that costs fuckall. Much better than the Jupiters and whatnot, even the old f/2 Zeiss Sonnars.
For around $50-70 you can get a Kiev 4 with a Helios or Jupiter lens. Then, since the contax rf mount is dead and the lenses (especially the 50mm ones) not adaptable, many of those lenses can be had for cheap. The Jupiter 12 is a nice 35mm f/2.8 Biogon design, rear element almost touching the shutter. The Jupiter 9 is a short tele, 85mm f/2, with great bokeh as a sonnar design. Very good portrait lens, available for ~$80.
If you're feeling fancy, you can even get a proper Contaz IIa, with the f/1.5 Sonnar, for less than $300.
Also, Voigtlander released some modern lenses in contax mount around 2000, there's a nice 21mm color skopar for $250 on ebay rn.
If you decide to go m-mount, Zeiss and voigtlander lenses are great. Also an M3 is much more practical than a III.
