https://www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Canon/EOS-5DS-R>This leaves 2 stops for showcasing the entire range of middle grey to deep black.I'm not going to get into a debate based on your misinterpretation of how sliders in Lightroom translate to stops of dynamic range. Not unless you shoot a Stouffer step wedge and provide the RAW file so that we can all see how Lightroom's sliders shift the steps, which sliders are linear, which ones use a curve, etc. All of your estimates based on Lightroom sliders amount to you pulling numbers out of your ass.
>The 6D has a slightly better dynamic range than the 5DS R (6D at 10.2, 5DS R at 10.16). I tried recreating the steps above. Source: https://www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/DXOPDR.htmPic related, from your own source. Doesn't matter if we use Bill Claff's line in the sand, or DxO's line in the sand (12.1ev for the 6D), the 5DsR has slightly better DR than the 6D.
>You'd need to extend your dynamic range by a minimum of 2.6 stops beyond the 10 stops of the 5DS R to even recreate a naturally looking forest scene with blue sky visible between the leaves. Again, this is a pointless claim because the range will be highly variable with sun position, sun attenuation, and forest cover percentage.
