Also, making a rig for two cameras is super simply and really cheap. All you need is a tripod head, a camera mount hole, a bar, and 2 camera mount screws (pic). Keep in mind that this is a static version so you'll only be able to take correct pics of 1 distance to the subject. If you want to be able to adjust the distance between the cameras, you should buy a pipe and two pipe clamps/brackets (the kind that look like brackets with 2 bolts) and mount the camera mount screws to the pipe clamps.
Making your own will be much cheaper than the Kula Deeper. However, the cost of a second camera is where the real costs will be. Also, for taking photos at the same time with two cameras, all you need are two cameras of the same make and model that support an IR remote. If they are set to remote then a single remote will work. Also, for landscape photos you need two tripods because the distance required between the two cameras for very distance objects is measured in several feet.
