I take photos of family, trips and life events so that I can remember what I have. And other people are always interested in seeing photos of themselves. You also could do something like social commentary, journalism or documentary work that has some inherent value to it. Or maybe forget the photos and just enjoy gearfagging like 90 % of the /p/eeps here.
