>>3972016Why the a7 for street? Do you need low light performance? Because if you don’t I’d recommend a canon 5d over a Sony a7. The original 5d costs like 150-200 used and as long as you don’t shoot low light the pictures are every bit as good as the new canon models for 20 times the money. If you need better autofocus or video or something you can get the mark ii or mark iii but they are honestly pretty much the same, just the Mark iv is an actual improvement, albeit a small one.
I bought a Sony a7iii specifically for low light and I love it for that purpose but I kept my og 5d because the colors look so good on it and jpegs sooc look great. Best skin tones ever. It has this kind of analogue vibe to it too. It’s more work to shoot it compared to the Sony though. No auto iso, bad af, no zebras or exposure preview. For lense the 50 1.4 is a good all around decision but if you primarily want to capture people the 85mm 1.8 is super nice because you can be so far away. If you do go for the Sony get a native lense.
