>>4176655The cherry on top is because fuji xtrans is a 3x3 color filter array instead of a 2x2 like bayer, you actually get less fine detail and less sharp looking photos no matter how sharp your lens is or how many megapixels you have. Just like bayer gets less detail than foveon (1x1, 1 pixel contains all color data). You can trick a computer program into counting additional resolved lines but to the human eye it's a blurry (or wormy) mess with visibly poorer definition. This is purely a fuji problem, the nikon ZFC is also APS-C and doesn't have the issue.
>inb4 but lenses doe!You can use full frame lenses on aps-c retards
Fujifilm is also renowned for inaccurate color. This is, again, because xtrans is a 3x3 color filter array and inherently captures less color data. You will get richer and more accurate colors out of an olympus camera, or the nikon ZFC. If you want the washed out, I mean, FILMIC, look, just apply a preset in lightroom and add fake grain. Turn color noise reduction to max of course, even though this will fuck up the colors a little, it will look better than fuji's "real" grain from xtrans, which is blockier noise with more luminance and less chromiance created by the oversized green pixels.
tldr if you don't like technobabble: The nikon ZFC and olympus OM-D cameras will taker nicer looking pictures than any fuji, but you can still take shitty washed out and soft pictures just like a fuji if you edit
