buy a Nikon D300 in 2008
took a couple pictures with it and put it in the closet for a decade.
flash forward to 2018... I really wanted to take pictures again for some reason.
Got the old D300 out of the closet and ordered new batteries. Was shocked it still worked flawlessly.
Spent the last month obsessed with photography. Took 10,000 pictures that month. Every day I took at least 300 photos. At night I would sit at my PC and shoot while adjusting settings, messing up the settings, resetting, and setting it up again. I did this over and over and over till I knew every single one. I watched videos, read the manual, investigated the autofocus white balance and metering settings.
Now a month later I know my camera inside and out. Each day I learn a little more. Muscle memory set in, I instantly adjust settings on the fly while shooting street photos. I feel confident now.
All you have to do is put in the time and find a passion for it.
