>>4393355>IMO if you are relying on pulling the paper out early you have already losttrue lol
>To get good contrast you need to develop it fully, so you want to expose it so the highlights stay white even if you leave it in the dev way too longyes, it was actually acting way too quickly and not properly
>Buy a real safelight. It should be dim not just redcalm down, I'm not that stupid
I was using it at its capacity 1% capacity and pointed towards the ceiling
but then again, the whole thing was just for fun
>>4393419 ah got it
but why is it your preferred developer?
just the highlights thing?
>you cannot buy d23 anymore, only mix them yourself.>d23 only has two ingredients vs d76 has i think 7?D72 is 'elon-hydroquinone developer', a mix of elon (3,1g), sodium sulphite (90g), Hydroquinone (12g), sodium carbonate (180g), potassium bromide (1,9g) and water (completing 1L)
D76 is 'elon-hydoquinone-borax tank developer', consisting of elon (2g), sodium sulphite (200g in crystals, or anhydrous 100g), hydroquinone (5g), borax (2g) and water (completing 1L)
so D23 apparently has 5 ingredients (plus water), whereas D76 has 4 ingredients (plus water)
would D23 work fine with just metol (elon) and sodium sulphite?
also the quantities I found in Kodak Chemicals and Formulae differ from those you posted
>>4393163I'm not doubting you, I just want to better understand this whole thing
