but the F601 is a brave thing, you can easily tear it appart, saw a bit of the door, glue it back and make a makeshift door.
did that and it have been working marvelously since last summer
Also the other thing i would say about it is that on this model the manual focus is not the easiest thing to do (like modern nikon the focusing glass does not have a fresnel lens)
otherwise the metering is golden, i never missed a single frame due to it since i got it (only because of my incompetence lmao)
