Most have hooks, you can litterally just hang on
a weight of any kind - your backpack, a stone, whatever
- sturdy enough joints to take the weight without getting close to sliding - the rated load
- legs that are far apart, reduces lever forces
- legs that are correct for the underground - spikes on earth, bigger feet or non-slipping ones on flat surfaces
Personally I have a Manfrotto. It'd work for this, no doubt.
But perhaps something like pic related would also do the trick - 12kg rated load should be enough, and it's around $80... obviously without the boom arm, but surprisingly with the ball head.
