I'm not a gearfag and I'm actually just using my mom's old Sony Alpha 100 with the kit lens. I have no idea where to go if I even wanted a better camera or lens (I know I prefer wide-and lenses and very rarely use the zoom past 28mm). I learned (or started to learn I should say) how to take photos on my highschool's pentax k1000 with a fixed lens for b/w, and they also had canon cameras for digital photography but I don't remember any of the specs for those.
