here's my story
bought the xp900 used off from the warehouse...
ordered third party ink from scamazon and some epson glossy photo papers
prints were ok EXCEPT for black and white ones, they all had a blue cast on them, and iam not talking about slightly blue but more like a cyanotype
i know well about color management and profiles but nothing helped
i tried converting files into every possible color profile and either printed by photoshop handling the color management or leave it to the printer
they were all useless so i gave it back and got my money back again
there were 2 possible solutions
1. the pre owner of the printer fucked up the printheads
2. all third party inks can't produce pure black&white prints
so to my wonder i couldn't find an answer online because obviously noone is fucking printing or what ?
my question would be
if i bought the xp900 again but brand new this time since it's cheap and would use third party ink, would i get fucked up BW prints with color casts again or
was it probably because the pre-owner of the printer had fucked it up ?
i don't want to waste money on genuine ink cartridges
so lang talk short:
do no name inks work for BW prints ??
