I intend to sell my Contax SLR system and instead invest the money in a better quality digital camera and one or two native lenses. However, I'd still like to have a film compact, as that was what I originally had in mind when I started with film. I have a pretty standard Olympus mju Zoom which is fun but a little soft and only usable in good weather.
Are there any above average zoom compacts in the 35-70mm range that are purchasable for around 150 euro? I've only been able to find cheap stuff from Nikon and Minolta with so few lens elements that they must be soft as hell, as well as ugly 90's designs from Canon. Someone besides Contax and Leica must have made a good quality short zoom compact of reasonable aperture?
