I got rid of most of all my film stuff, does it count if I set my camera to 6:6 mode and put a vsco on it?

I tried to shoot my dog on Velvia 50 and it was a nightmare. I couldn't stop down at all and still hand-hold it, and as a result my razor's edge depth of field just missed the eye. It sucks.
