>>3278004I usually shot the Skopar stopped down at least to f/4, but having the option to use a lens over its entire range is certainly nice. The Biogon weights twice of what the Skopar weights, but about the same as the Summicron 35mm ASPH. Considering the additional 2/3 stop compared to the Skopar, it's obvious that it has to weight more. I thought the same about the focus nub of the Biogon and until I handled the lens I thought about testing and selling it, at the price I got it I could easily sell it with +50% profit. However, the focus nub is actually not bad and still lets you focus by feel while it provides enough grip to make the focussing very similar to that of the Skopar. Focus throw is also about the same and a tiny bit smoother.
You think your shutter is going to break soon? I always thought those are quite tough. I used a Bessa R before and Bessa have some serious advantages over Leica M: Brighter finder, 1/125 sync and 1/2000 max. The longer base at Leica isn't really that important if you don't shoot tele and apart from that it's more about the feel of the camera, a Leica is a lot heavier and feels more solid for this reason. Before really getting a Leica I suggest looking at the alternatives.
one more with the Skopar at f/2.8
