>>4313712>>4313676I made this whole double film experiment and wanted to have the iconic red pillar on the underside of the photo along with the vivid scene of people strolling around in a pleasant sunny day, and the top part (where the building stands) in black and white, enforcing the cold grey colour of its concrete
The second photo needs a bit more context, I agree:
The museum is going through a restoration process
MASP's red pillars are some of the most iconic references in São Paulo (in Brazil; it's the biggest city in Latin America), and they're scraping off the paint in order to restore the building
So the pillars, which have been bright red since 1991, are now back to being grey as they were since the museum's inauguration in 1947
Having it stripped off of its vivid colour and replaced by the coldness of harsh concrete feels weird and cold, and I wanted to balance it with the couple going up the stairs
Picrel has a clearer view of the museum and the stairs and the grey pillar, and I like it but I think it lacks the human element of the couple going up the stairs
Thanks for the compliments on the other photos too
I agree the intent could be clearer with the fucked up old Fiat, it was maybe too descriptive
I was expecting that the car itself would 'tell a story' with the broken glass on the ground and the missing headlight, but maybe I could do more than just present it the way I found it
Could have lowered the angle, showed a bit more glass, focus more on the damaged parts
>I like the colours, I like your use of black and white especially. Thanks a lot, and thanks again for the careful response and for making me rethink my decisions. It helps a lot
