>>3321765>>3321933Venetian (well, kinda, I live in the mainland next Venice) here, I've been to Amsterdam and while it's a very beautiful city, it's nowhere near like Venice: there are (some) canals and (some) bridges, and that's pretty much where the things in common end.
Anyway, yes, Venice is a unique place, but making a good original photo out of it is almost impossible: I think the sheer volume of pictures taken each day is enough to make a 3D model precise to the nanometer through photogrammetry. Also, there's a serious accessibility issue: if you're a tourist you're bound to stick to the same places everybody goes; I do think the beauty of Venice can be experienced only through a boat manned by someone that knows the place and that can show you those places that can't be reached by foot. I feel that in a sense this disqualifies Venice from the best cities for photography, unless you know someone that can personally take you to a true intimate boat tour of the city and its surrounding lagoon and islands.
