Sony for some reason decided to make the mount on the body out of plastic, and that plastic mount is affixed to a plastic frame. A great example of this would be the 70-200 where I'm certain you'd stress the body and mount on anything but an A7RII.
I doubt your 50 1.7 will do any damage, but if you throw an old 70-200 on there, then you may need to start holding the lens instead.
