So I heard Fuji might get ready to discontinue velvia so I have 4 in the freezer rn and I’m going to put another 6 rolls of 35mm and 5 rolls of 120 once they arrive on Monday. I got it cheap so it doesn’t hurt the wallet at all. Probably going to use a lot of it this summer.
Assuming I bring it to China when it’s hot as fuck outside, will I greatly affect shelf life if I bring 6 canisters and end up using 4, and then refreeze the other 2? Is that going to damage the film, meaning I should use all of what I bring in a short time span? I’ve read from lurking that airport scanners for carryon are safe for film, is this true?
Another final question, my camera opened up 4 exposures in, and then I ended up rolling the film leader into the canister by being over cautious. I hope to save the other 30 exposures. Are film pullers safe to use anywhere, or should it be in a dark room? I’m just pulling this leader out, I don’t want to waste a 36 roll of velvia.
I would ask at the camera shop I started to frequent near my office, but I’m very early 20s and everyone there is easily triple my age, and I look years younger than my age already. I’m new to a lot of this so while some of the old guys are especially nice and helpful, the others are extremely judgemental regulars. Would rather ask retard questions anonymously
