I spent some time diving into the first color negative scan from the drum scanner. The scanner software is rather lousy at the inversion process so I scanned it in as a positive and inverted it manually with a curves layer. Right away I noticed colors that were impossible on the Epson, I can't even explain it. The bright parts of the sky were much more colorful without being over-blown and there's no more of that dreaded cyan that the Epson loves to exaggerate. And no more shitty color banding. I can't wait to work with more of the old negatives.
