>>3619764>If you want ground animals you'll need to learn tracking techniques then set up along game trails or near watering holes.I forgot to mention scent. You'll need to be downwind of the trail or spot you'll be staking out. You can use a wind map like
https://www.ventusky.com/ or similar to get a general idea of prevailing wind directions. That may not help you in valleys where drafts from heating/cooling blow in different directions.
If you are in a hilly area, note that sound travels extremely far and the hill acts like a funnel/reflector alerting everything to your presence far more than being out on flat ground. Meaning, your presence a kilometer away might scare all the big ground animals away on the opposite hillside if you are not quiet and stepping very quietly. If there are leaves on the ground in the woods then you may want to go out after there's been rain. That will have all those leaves moist and quieter if you must step on them. Trying to sneak through dry leaves is pretty much impossible in a valley.
If you've ever been hunting in a large valley crowded with other hunters, you'll know what I'm talking about with all this. You can normally even hear complete whispered conversations on the other side of the valley, depending on how the air and weather is.
Camo netting is ultra cheap also. Get it in whatever pattern/color you need for your area. It is very lightweight so you may want 2-3 different colors. They are very easy to setup with some paracord. Just match it to both your 3D ghillie suit and background. Those suits are also cheap and super lightweight.
