I usually edit the images slightly but I try not to over-sharpen anything. Sometimes I see examples from other photographers where they overly sharpen the moon and it looks kind of messy where the crater edges are.
I took a shot the other night about a week ago of the moon... since it was almost full I didn't get a lot of crater detail @ 400mm + 2x III extender. The image is slightly cropped. It's not as interesting when the moon is so well lit. But we get a Total Lunar Eclipse (Blood Moon) in about 6 weeks in Australia so it will be good to see with this setup. The moon will undergo a 5 hour and 17 minutes Total Eclipse which will start at 9:51pm. Let's hope we get good weather for a change.
