So I originally was going to do a shoot for someone for free for my portfolio. She wanted me to shoot her kitchen, den and three bathrooms. She then mentioned she and her husband run a contracting business for remodeling kitchens, bathrooms and etc and wanted to use the photos on the their website since they don't have photos. During the shoot, she said that she was going to pay me my normal fee ($125 for real estate) because she didn't want to feel like she was using me. She has already paid me and I am bout to send the photos to her.
However, since she is going to be using these photos for on her company's website and maybe social media, should I license them? After thinking about it, I was going to email them saying that for 60 days they could use the photos on their Website and Social Media platforms for free. However, after 60 days, if they wanted to continue using my photos that they would need to license them for future use and for every non Real Estate shoot they wanted me to do after that.
She has a full remodel of a newly furnished apartment coming up that she wants me to shoot. This apartment is going to be solely used as an Extended AirBnB. It would be wise for me to license those pictures since they will continue to profit through my photos, correct?
Also since this wasn't a typical Real Estate shoot, I took a bit longer to get certain angles and images. I spent a bit more time editing these photos as well. In the future, should I charge more than I do for my real estate photography?
