The 5D mark II was released in 2008. The Sony A7 IV was released in 2021. Take a good look at the attached picture. At high ISO the A7 IV is better at the same ISO, about the same at +1ev, and much worse at +2ev. 13 years of development and the high ISO needle has moved...one whole stop. Also: the DR difference between the two bodies at ISO 3200 is <1ev despite a 13 year tech gap and despite the much larger difference at base ISO. Which again reinforces the points I made earlier.
This is why I told you that the autistic base ISO DR fight was a thread derailment. It has no relevance for OP who wants to take better NIGHT photos.
