And the 50mm extra reach is handy imo.
It's much heftier (405g vs 260g) and takes bigger filters (62mm vs 52m) but I find it more attractive than the Canon nevertheless.
That said, I shoot with a 5D2 and a 900g lens so I won't relate much to weight complaints.

I think the key to a6400's success is that it's cheap for what it can do. For videography it's awesome. 4K log footage until the battery runs out and with full sensor readout is really cool.
That said, the M50 still outsells it.

Maybe there's some kit that makes it cheaper though, I'm not aware of it and didn't research that much. But as standalones, there's an insignificant price difference in favor of Nikon. Nikon gets crazy expensive when you get to Z mount FX lenses.
