Take your pick.
The exposure control dials on the X100v are useless decorations. You have to walk your hands all over the camera and feel around just to change settings, they are meant to be used two-fingered. These imitate dials created by engineering constraints on old cameras. The shutter dial had to be there because it was closer to the focal plane shutter mechanism, the aperture ring had to be on the lens, and convenient ISO controls weren't needed because it was set for the roll and had to be close to the metering system in the eyepiece.
With modern cameras you can quickly and easily spin little wheels with just one finger because it's all electronic.
