The only drawbacks are that 120 backs and the WLF are weirdly expensive if bought seperately. That said, you can shoot 120 in 220 backs without issue (been doing this since I got the camera in 2006).
$600usd is spendy. A basic kit with prism/wlf, 80mm, and 1-2 film backs can be had for $400usd quite easily on eBay.
