It's the camera I always recommend to beginners wanting to get serious because it's easy to use and gotten pretty cheap. As far as photos go, spending more than that is usually just buying convenience, not necessarily "quality" in any meaningful way. Gear's potential to actually improve your photos maxes out pretty early. Gearfaggotry is compensation.
