The display is using big glass plate with a lot of bezel, just like K-1. In older models the screen was either encompassed by the body (no articulation), or was flipping to the side on a hinge (K-70, K-S2).
The screen is also much deeper in the body than the controls on the right of it. This construction is similar to the recent KP J and KP IR, where the screen can be pulled out by grabbing on the bottom or left side.
