it is a shitty small sensor camera with an even shittier lens and the automated post processing smartphones use to cope is hit or miss. it's largely designed to make makeup-encrusted teenage girls look ok in selfies, touch up food photography, and make landscape shots look good on a screen that's 10" tops without zooming in.
when you want to do something as basic as take a photo of an animal that's across your backyard in dim-ish light suddenly phone cameras shit themselves. you can only do so much with a small lens and smaller sensor. they will never fully catch up in every area unless manufacturers up the sensor size a little and reclaim some of that lost thickness that nobody asked to lose except for 16 year dipshits with massive cases and start releasing ILC shells for their phones (and thus killing micro four thirds cameras forever)
