Why can't I get good background blur with my point and shoot camera?
I am using a Kodak Easyshare Z700. It has a 35-175mm (equivalent) zoom lens and can shoot as open as F 2.8
When I take a picture of something up close it just doesn't blur the background very much. Is it because it is only the "equivalent" focal length? It has a crop factor of 6.02.
