Cripes, this took forever to make. This is the result of 6 sets of 10 rail shots, each set at a different exposure. Then I focus stacked each set individually. Then I took the resulting 6 photos, exposure stacked them then tweaked them as a single HDR image. The entire post processing took about 40 minutes. The subject was in full bright sun too.
I was doing this as technical practice more than anything. The biggest thing I don't like when using a macro rail is how much of the photo gets cropped when focus stacking. My manual focus ring won't work when the lens is reversed. One more reason to save up for an actual macro lens.
