A giant zoom.
It makes you lazy and it makes you take shitty photos. Also the picture quality out of bridge cameras is generally obscene and I'd rather see a phone shot.
You know what's the perfect camera for someone that is in the military and wants to take nice pictures of what he sees? Something with a 35-ishmm equivalent, fixed. You don't waste time zooming, you see what you like and you take a photo of it. If its too far, not worth capturing.
I'd suggest a Canon 200D / Rebel SL2 + Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM Lens
Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM. You get a nice camera that is very compact.
