>>3497104That's basically the same thing, just with a slightly jazzed up exterior and sold under a different brand name. They're plentiful and cheap for a reason. You should be aiming for a device which will do 3200 dpi, giving a resolution of 12+ mpx. More than enough for B&W / Negative film.
If you can't find a purpose built 35mm scanner from 2003-2007 on ebay (they seem to be less plentiful or more expensive on American ebay than European ebay) then go for camera scanning with a macro lens, or alternatively good quality flatbed scanning. Both are viable. These amazon plastic scanners with weird descriptions and poorly photoshopped images are just hastily thrown together junk using off the shelf parts (much like that Yashica kickstarter fiasco.)
My Scan Dual IV may overheat every so often and become unresponsive, but it gives me grain-sharp completely satisfying 4500x3000 scans. Pic related is a 1:1 crop, and cost me hardly £100.
