Actually a lot of them take the job on the side, these days unless you can find really great stories or somehow managed to score a contract its not sustainable...
My mentor is a very famous photographer from Kosovo era. When war photographs retire they try to embrace the life they almost lost, only to be haunted by the ghosts of their past. They end up drinking themselves to death... at least in the case of the classic guys... War is a drug after all.
