Low Contrast is in. Flat Grading is in. Flat iconography and Design is in. Simple, natural material textures are in. I don't mind people using such a look for their films at all, if the tone aligns with the elements.
In 2 years, Filmmakers might think it looks dated. In 7 years, regular Corporate Video will love it. In 15 years, the piece you made that utilized Flat Grading either served its purpose in its limited lifetime, or maybe it'll be "iconic" 30 years after that.
